Traditional Data Centers Are Too Slow for the Edge
Problem points:
- Long deployment cycles
- Complex integration of multiple vendors
- High infrastructure and operational costs
- Limited scalability in distributed environments
A New Approach to Building Local Data Centers
A traditional server room is based on the assumption that the required operating conditions must be maintained throughout the entire room. Air conditioning, fire protection, environmental monitoring, and access control are designed to protect the entire server room volume, regardless of how much of that space is actually occupied by IT equipment.
MicroDC follows a different approach.
Instead of protecting the room itself, it creates an independent environmental enclosure (Micro Data Center) that surrounds only the IT infrastructure. Within this enclosure, all parameters required for the safe and reliable operation of the equipment are continuously maintained, including temperature, humidity, airflow quality, power supply, fire protection, and access control.
As a result, a complete data center is created whose operation is far less dependent on the environmental conditions of the building itself.
A Controlled Environment Instead of a Controlled Room
In a conventional server room, all infrastructure systems are designed to support the entire room volume.
MicroDC brings these functions directly to the IT equipment itself. This means that:
- only the equipment operating space is cooled,
- the actual operating conditions of the servers are continuously monitored,
- the fire suppression system protects only the enclosed space,
- access control applies directly to the IT infrastructure.
This approach improves the effectiveness of all infrastructure systems while reducing the energy required to operate them.
All Core Data Center Functions. One System.
MicroDC combines compute, networking, power, cooling, and security into a single, self-contained solution — bringing full data center capabilities to the edge.
A Micro Data Center is a sealed, controlled operating environment that encloses only the IT infrastructure.
It consists of:
- a sealed server rack cabinet or a lineup of cabinets,
- a precision cooling system,
- an environmental monitoring system,
- a fire detection and suppression system,
- an access control system,
- an intelligent power distribution system,
- an integrated monitoring and management platform.
All components are designed to operate as a single, integrated system, providing a unified operating environment for the IT infrastructure.
MicroDC is not a collection of independent devices. The server racks, cooling units, sealing system, airflow paths, environmental monitoring system, power distribution, and protection systems have all been designed as a single, integrated solution. This approach enables:
- optimized airflow management,
- simplified system management,
- improved reliability,
- easier infrastructure expansion.
High-Efficiency Closed-Loop Airflow
One of the key elements of the Micro Data Center architecture is its fully controlled closed-loop airflow.
Air does not circulate between the room and the IT equipment. Instead, the entire heat exchange process takes place exclusively within the sealed enclosure.
The airflow follows a short, closed path: Cooling unit → IT equipment → Cooling unit with no contact with the surrounding air.
This design provides:
- complete separation of hot and cold air streams,
- elimination of uncontrolled air recirculation,
- stable and predictable temperature distribution,
- rapid cooling system response to changes in IT load,
- high energy efficiency.
Because only the volume enclosed within the Micro Data Center is air-conditioned, virtually the entire cooling capacity is used directly to remove the heat generated by the IT equipment.
Two Models. One Platform.
The MicroDC architecture is available in two configurations, designed to accommodate different infrastructure scales and deployment strategies.
Both solutions are based on the same operating philosophy: they create an independent environmental enclosure that surrounds only the IT infrastructure while integrating all critical infrastructure systems into a single, unified operating environment. The primary differences lie in their scale and expansion capabilities.

MicroDC Modular Rack
MicroDC Modular Rack enables the deployment of larger, scalable data centers consisting of multiple server racks working in conjunction with in-row cooling units. The individual modules form a shared, controlled operating environment while preserving all the core principles of the MicroDC architecture. Thanks to its modular design, the infrastructure can be expanded incrementally by adding additional server racks and cooling units without requiring modifications to the existing system.

MicroDC Smart Rack
MicroDC Smart Rack is a complete data center integrated within a single server rack equipped with a roof-mounted cooling unit. It is an all-in-one solution in which cooling, power distribution, environmental monitoring, access control, fire protection, and management are fully integrated into a single prefabricated module. The solution is designed for applications requiring a single, fully autonomous server rack that provides a complete operating environment for IT equipment without the need for a conventional server room. Best fit for: branch offices, retail, remote sites
The architecture also supports redundant cooling configurations, in which each server rack can operate with the cooling unit on its left, on its right, or with both units simultaneously. This provides:
- balanced distribution of the cooling load,
- increased system availability,
- maintenance without interruption of cooling,
- flexible expansion of cooling capacity as the IT infrastructure grows. Best fit for: industrial, telecom, large edge nodes
A Micro Data Center is not limited to a single server rack. Additional modules can be incorporated by adding more server racks and cooling units, creating larger deployments while preserving the same operating principles and a unified management environment. The infrastructure can be expanded incrementally, without the need to redesign or rebuild the entire data center.

Built for Speed, Reliability and Scale
Each module is delivered as a complete, prefabricated solution. Once delivered to the installation site, only positioning the module and connecting the required utilities are necessary. All critical infrastructure systems are pre-integrated, pre-configured, and ready for operation. This approach significantly reduces deployment time while minimizing the risk of installation errors.
